The JCB JS160W belongs to the 17-ton category of our range of heavy wheeled excavators.

It is designed for outstanding strength, productivity, efficiency, comfort, safety and ease of maintenance. Our DieselMAX Tier 3 engine is also extremely efficient, producing very high torque at low revs.

• A bucket breakout force of 105 kN makes the JS160W excavator highly productive, and the JS range quick hitch system makes changing attachments quick and easy.
• Simultaneous movement and digging are smooth and fast with intuitive multifunction operation, and four work modes allow operators of 17 Tn JS160W wheeled excavators to adapt performance to any application. The Auto, Economico, Precision and Levante modes provide very different optimized settings.

We designed JCB JS160W wheeled excavators to be comfortable, safe, ergonomic, simple and intuitive to operate.

• The cushioned boom and bucket end stops prevent impacts during loading, protect your machine and increase operator comfort, while the 6 viscous rubber cab mounts minimize noise and vibration.
• A 70/30 split front screen for clear forward visibility, plus a large laminated glass roof window, provide this 17 Tn wheeled excavator with exceptional visibility in all directions.
• To keep everything under control, a JCB JS160W wheeled excavator has balanced slewing with electro-hydraulically controlled braking.

Strength

The reinforced boom and bucket of the JCB JS160W are made of high tensile steel, with one-piece bent plates and internal reinforcement plates for a long service life.

• The heavy-duty undercarriage of the 17-ton JS160W wheeled excavators is a fully closed box-section and fully welded for long-term durability, even in the most demanding applications. The upper structure also provides maximum durability and support.
• The slewing ring of a JS160W wheeled excavator is welded to the upper and lower undercarriage frames, and the rigid, durable doors provide greater strength.

Servicing

We designed the JCB JS160W wheeled excavators to be low-maintenance and easy to service. This makes them affordable, efficient and highly productive.

• The hoods open and close easily with gas-assisted cylinders, and the service doors are large and wide for good access.
• With boom and arm greasing intervals of 1000 hours, and a hydraulic oil service life of 5000 hours, they provide maximum uptime on this excavator.
• The grease points are also centralized on the 17 Tn JS160W excavator, for safe and easy access to the higher pins. Likewise the filters (engine oil, hydraulic oil and fuel).
